The Journey Begins

Dec 3, 2021 my life changed forever.

December 3, 2021 started off as a normal day.
It was a Friday. I had to work and Theresa had to work.

I kissed her goodbye on the forehead as I always leave before she gets up.
When she gets up we usually share funny memes for a few minutes before she starts her morning routine.

She arrived for work at 7am. At 7:05 she called me and said she was going to the ER with head pressure.

I arrived shortly after I left work. When I got there. I thought she was having an anxiety attack because she was worried about some things.

I gave her some kisses on the forehead when I arrived and said “This is probably what you needed” She said ” yes, you’re right”.

After 10 or 15 minutes she had to go to the bathroom. I put her boots on because it was winter time. I sat her on the side of the bed. She was nauseous. She proceeded to vomit. Afterwards she leaned back in the bed and began convulsing. The nurse looked frightened and called for help. At this point I realized this was not anxiety. I thought “what the hell is going on?”

The staff immediately took her to catscan. I looked around and for the first time I was scared. I saw Dr’s and nurses everywhere. It was a little frantic. I sat by myself for about 20 min.

The nurse returned and said “This is not good. Theresa has a major bleed on her brain and it’s not good.” At this point I was thinking she might die.

The Dr said she has ruptured an aneurysm in her brain and she needs emergency surgery but this is not good.

The Doctor returned after the procedure with his head hung low and said “Weve stopped the bleed but this is not good”.

50% die at onset. After survival 1/3 have permanent disability including vegetative state. 1/3 have some disabilities and 1/3 recover but Theresa is very very very sick.

Theresa remained hospitalized for 7 months including rehabs. She is truly a miracle.
