Welcome to our family

I’m practicing starting my blog. I have a few extra days off. I like to reflect and write. I’m trying to decide on my niche.

This month celebrates 1 year of muligenerational living. I can tell you before Theresa’s injury we were looking forward to being empty nesters. More travel and freedom. Life had other plans.

Honestly up until last year I didn’t know my grandkids very well and it was a big void. The 7 months Theresa was in the hospital I barely saw them at all. Prior to that it was occasional weekend visits birthday parties. I was just working alot.

Fast forward to today I don’t have to wonder what they’re up to. I mean sometimes I do if I see a marker cap without a marker lol or little man flies by in a super hero costume lol. I love every minute. I feel so lucky.

Seeing my adult children and son in law everyday is a blessing too. One of my ways to say I love you is with food. I love to cook and they love to eat lol.

We all have a part to play and it works so well.
For those of you that don’t know Theresa will always need 24 hour supervision . With that being said she is a huge help as well. She loves waiting on the little ones. She is the official sandwich maker and drink pourer lol. She loves making them into shapes for them.

Theresa is very repetitive and it’s a struggle some days. We NEVER get angry about it. We come up with ways to be creative in our replies. For example Theresa was sitting on the back deck while I was prepping in the kitchen.

I had a pot of chili on the smoker and set the temp for 350. Within 15 minutes she came in an asked at least 5 times and said “what temp will the chili be done? I said “that’s the temp of the fire not the chili” She said “oh,ok” however this repeated every couple minutes. She was focused on that screen.Eventually I just said “425”. Problem solved. Half hour later we ate lol.

She hyper focuses on certain things and repeats them.

Even the kids recognize her repetitiveness and understand it’s not her fault. They are so understanding.

I could not do this without help. My family is a blessing and I get to hug and kiss them everyday and tell them how much I love them with my actions and my words.

❤️
